Burst Installation at Harvard University
Burst is a timber installation constructed of timber waste from local construction sites. The traditional pathway of construction waste is often landfills where timber decays and releases the atmospheric carbon it has sequesters during tree growth. In this time of Climate change, it is ever important to re-consider the end of life scenarios of construction materials and buildings. The Burst Installation provides a path to not only maintain the carbon lock within the timber fibers, but also embodies the energy recovery scenario that is unique to timber unlike other building materials.
